I finally decided!!!

So, after a tough week of trying to weigh out my options, I finally made a decision as to where I'm going to work!

I chose the practice in Maryland. At first I was afraid that this practice wasn't as personable or as friendly as the practice in Maine, but then I was completely taken by surprise!

I emailed Maine on a Wednesday, simply asking about the cost of healthcare...I emailed them againnnn on Sunday and also decided to email Maryland the same question. Monday morning--I had a response from Maryland saying that they'd call me later on that day. Maine...still no response. I waited a while...Maryland called me and talked to me about healthcare costs. And I still hadn't heard from Maine! So I called them and no one picked up at the office...

I finally received an email from Maine that evening but I was kind of annoyed that it took so long!!

Thennn, the following day, I got a call on my house phone from the practice in Maryland...It was actually the head doctor and he just wanted to talk to me and see if I had any questions. The fact that he called me just to talk definitely helped me make my decision.

So, it wasn't about the money, but it was about the persistence and personableness of the practice.

Also, Maryland is definitely a better location...instead of it being four hours away from the middle of nowhere (aka my house in NH), its only about 30 minutes from Baltimore, an hour from DC, an hour and a half from Pittsburgh, and two hours from NYC!!! Sooo, its basically smack dab in the middle of a lotttt of shit! So I think that will be perfect for me!

I'll update you again on this decision soon!!

Ciao!

Biggest Decision of my Life?

So...I have two job offers, one in Maine, one in Maryland...There's things I love about both, but also things that I'm not too sure about...I am so completely torn right now that it's crazy...What should I do??? I keep asking EVERYONE and it seems like everyone's opinion isn't what I want to hear...When someone says, Maryland! I say--but everyone in Maine was sooo nice and enthusiastic! And they're giving me money to relocate!! When someone says, Maine! I say--but Maryland is offering more money...and its closer to a lot of things, like DC and NYC! Maine is in the middle of nowhere... And its just like...everytime someone says one place, I think I want the other...I am oh so very lost right now...more than ever...

I hate to be so EMO about this...but its the beginning of the rest of my life? I don't have anything tying me down here though, so I potentially could go ANYWHERE!!! But with these two options that are in front of me...I have NO idea...

I know I need to make this decision on my own, but I just maybe need time? It's something that's harder than I ever thought it would be. I wish I had hated one of the two or that one didn't offer...lol

Please help me decide...
I hope I get a sign sometime soon...por favor?

Packing Up and Moving On

So, everything is packed up in my apartment. It's weird actually. Even though I've only been in this apartment for about nine months, it really feels like home...It will be weird leaving. I'm kind of scared to move on to bigger and better things, but I know it has to happen. I guess what I'm most afraid about is being lonely wherever I go... My good friend did tell me that no matter where I go I'll be lonely though (unless its home), so I should find a place that I like and just GO! I don't know if that advice was good or bad, but I think it just made me think about how I need to just put myself out there and not be afraid. I can make friends anywhere--I know I'm a great person and a wonderful friend, so that shouldn't be a problem. But actually going out and making those friends...that could be interesting. I don't want to go out anywhere by myself--I've always been told that's kind of wrong for a girl to do in a city, or anywhere for that matter--and I won't have any friends to go out with...So what should I do? I guess I'll start by doing day things and try to make friends that way. Stuff like going to the gym, maybe doing pottery classes or yoga...Or just hanging out in coffee shops reading. Yeah, those sound like good ideas... haha I think I'm over analyzing, as per usual. I'm hoping that I'll land a job next week though. Although I don't really want it to start for a while, I know it's time to move on with my life and to do things that I really want to do!

Oh! I didn't let you know what it is that I love...Well, photography is my passion. However, this past year, I became very interested in Ophthalmic photography--photographing eyes. I have dedicated this past school year to learning about this specialized field and I love it! I think its rewarding and fun and interesting and completely worth it! I hope that I'll get a job doing it soon! There are a few prospective places that I have interviews at next week. In fact...I have one on Monday, one on Wednesday and one on Thursday--all in different states that start with Ma! haha! Strange!

I'm going to go get ready for what might be my last night at Lovin' Cup, my all time favorite bistro. I also need to packkk. Goodness, these next few weeks will be crazy...

Wish me luck...I think I'll need it!
